End of last year, a Hyvä Checkout development course was added to the Yireo portfolio. And it featured for a large part Magewire. Due to demand, we have now added a separate course only on Magewire, simply because it is much more than just Hyvä.
Magewire in Hyvä Checkout
The course on the Hyvä Checkout logically focuses on Magewire heavily. Once you have dealt with a couple XML-files of the Hyvä Checkout, including layout files, it is required to dive into the Block / ViewModel / Magewire Component classes that are referenced from PHTML-templates. And from the moment that you start dealing with steps with subcomponents and so on, understanding Magewire becomes a solid requirement.
In the Hyvä Checkout course, a lot of time is therefore spent on getting to know Magewire, starting with the simpler basics (syntax, common scenarios) towards more complex components (typing, nested components, hydration). And because these steps with Magewire can be taken without a Hyvä Checkout license, all Magewire-specific lessons were recorded without Hyvä Checkout in-mind.
In the end, this seemed to have been a good choice, because people started inquiring about a Magewire course without Hyvä Checkout being involved.
Magewire is already much more
And for good reasons: Magewire is already so much more. It allows for simple scenarios like newsletter boxes, add-to-cart buttons and even a minicart (which could be made more complex step-by-step). But it shines (to my opinion) in the really complex scenarios like product finders and product configurators.
I've helped out already 5 agencies with actual scenarios based on Magewire that would have been a lot more complex if AlpineJS or KnockoutJS or some other JS framework (even React or Vue) would have been used. To my opinion, it is a gamechanger. If this statement takes you by surprise, you are already missing out.
And more is to come with Magewire 3: Admin support, bundled HTTP requests, faster performance and maybe even more.
A new Yireo training: Magewire development
So there it is: A new video course on Magewire development with - as of yet - more than 6 hours of video, numerous coding samples and all available for dead-cheap.
Anyone that seriously touches Magewire will realize that this is a gamechanger for Magento backend development
